There is also a LISTER cold press feed pelletiser machine driven by a three phase electric motor. This equipment has not been in operation for a number of years so could use some maintenance Irrigation Infrastructure Both irrigators need repairs, as do the pumps, as these machines have not been used for a couple of years.Large Pivot -Transportable river pump being a 125mm/100mm Kelly and Lewis centrifugal pump driven by a 55kw three phase electric motor is connected via underground power mains and underground PVC pipe from river to centre-pivot. Underground PVC mains to six hydrants ensures the towable, two-span T&L irrigator with hydraulic drive and three cylinder Kubota engine is setup to irrigate 25 hectares. Fencing:The Herbert River forms a natural boundary on most of the northern and western boundaries, although it is fenced off. The whole property is boundary fenced with 14 internal paddocks. 80% of the fencing is near new and of a high standard. Water:Each paddock has a dam (all newly built in the last three-five years) except for the cultivation paddock of the large pivot. The close proximity of the cultivation paddock to the Herbert River ensure easy water supply if needed. Uramo has approx. 15km of Herbert River frontage and has many long water holes, the one at the homestead being 2km long. The permanent waterholes along this absolutely picturesque river hold Black bream, Turtles, Eels and a few Freshwater Crocodiles. Wonderful camping sites, swimming holes and fishing spots abound. Roads:The gravel road from the highway to the property is owned and maintained by council, except when hauling of gravel from Uramo, when it is the property’s responsibility to maintain the road for that period of haulage. The internal road network on the property has been significantly upgraded since purchase of the property in 2000 with easy access to all parts of the property and fences. Yards: The cattle yards are located at the homestead and are constructed of both timber and steel. The steel section is part of a re-design and upgrade of the existing yards and was completed in April 2009. The race is now covered, longer and a new cement and steel side loading ramp added. There is fixed irrigation sprinklers in the yards at varying points as well as a good working crush. The older timber sections of the yards have been well maintained. Gravel Pit / Quarry:There is an established gravel pit on the property with a license to cover 18 hectares and a maximum extraction rate of 100,000 tonnes per year. The gravel can easily produce several different grades of road base (mainly 2.2 grade) with minimal preparation. Previous customers of the gravel have been the local council and Main Roads. To give an indication of its worth, 40,000 cubic metres is worth about $1.0M. There is an annual fee of about $3500 for the permit to stay in place. Pit has not been rehabilitated as there is still plenty of gravel to be used. Feedlot: A staged 3000 SCU feedlot has been approved through council, EPA and DPI for construction. Stage one is for 18 pens and the infrastructure to be built including yards, sediment ponds, bitumen turnoff from highway etc. Although plans and costing have been recently done for this, nothing has been started to date. There is also an annual fee of about $3500. Water Licenses: All cost $58.75 per year each for license with DNR
