| Jim & Kym Whelan - Dixie & Koolatah Stations Cape York |
|
We went by the old saying ‘all agents are the same’ but we were wrong. Since establishing a relationship with Henry & Jennifer Slaney, Slaney & Co First National in 2007 we have bought and sold a number of properties. Prior to Henry’s involvement with our business we purchased ‘Dixie Station’ in Cape York and were finding it difficult to market our weaners due to the distances involved and the impact this travel has on young cattle. Henry approached us and has successfully developed a few regular buyers for when the trucks hit the yards. It is comforting to know that we can ring Henry & Jennifer when the trucks leave “Dixie” and know everything will be OK when the cattle arrive, that the cattle are sold and the buyer’s payment is in good hands. In 2008, Henry was the driving force behind the strategy to sell our “Crosbie Station” to the Queensland Government and ‘Hazelwood’ to a neighboring grazier. Although there seemed to be times of little progress, Henry’s dedication and commitment got us a successful outcome for both properties … and put our business in a strong position in readiness for the next opportunity. In August 2009, Henry mentioned to us that the adjoining property to ‘Dixie’, ‘Koolatah Station’ would be worth a look. The strategy was to value-add both the cattle and the properties by consolidating the two into one larger cattle operation. Because we have faith in Henry’s judgment we took a look at the proposal … two months later we are now the proud owners of a much bigger, and better, cattle business.
Henry & Jennifer Slaney have been acting on our behalf now for over 2 years and we can honestly say they are dedicated to their clients 100%, they are honest, reliable and above all they are people of integrity. We believe they have more than a superficial interest in us, and our business, and that they actually care about our best outcomes.

| Herb & Margaret Clemments - ex Camden Park Hughenden |
|
After reaching a decision to sell Camden Park, which had been our home for more that 50 years and owned by the Clemments family for 130 years, we wanted the sale to be handled in a professional and expedient manner.
Before we had a chance to put our feelers out we were contacted by Henry Slaney of Slaney & Co who had heard from his extensive network that we were looking to move on. Henry knew exactly how to market Camden with a combination of photos, brochures and website information.
Within three weeks Henry had found a buyer and made the sale happen. Throughout the process Henry made himself available to us and spent time in our home, making sure that both parties were happy with the handover schedule.
We would recommend Henry to anyone looking for an honest and reliable person with extensive knowledge in the stock/land industry.

| John & Dianne Coleman - ex Uramo Station Mt Garnet |
|
In February 2010 we sold our property ‘Uramo Station’, Mt Garnet at Auction. After nearly eleven years of ownership my husband and I made the difficult and emotional decision to sell. ‘Uramo’ was not only a wonderful cattle property but it was our business and our family’s home. Many emotions and difficulties arise when selling a property so we were grateful for not only the expertise and professionalism showed to us by Henry and his wife Jennifer, but also the compassion and thoughtfulness they extended to us.We have dealt with our fair share of real estate agents over the years and none have stood out like Henry for his professionalism, regular and detailed updates, selling plans, honesty with his advice, willingness to lend a hand and tact. He was always on time even when having to drive hours to get to our property and ‘went the extra mile’ to get it right for us. One example of this was the aerial photos of the property that we had done for advertising. Henry was not completely happy with the results so, at his expense to charter a helicopter he had them redone.Henry couldn’t wish for a more organised and pleasant office manager with Jennifer. We were impressed as Jennifer knows what she’s doing, does it well and always has a courteous manner and together they make a great team. Should we ever need a real estate agent to sell or buy another property, Slaney & Co. would be it. They know their market, they know the legalities, they know cattle and they know people. That’s the whole package.

| Noel Oats - ex Silver Valley Station Mingela |
|
I first made the decision to sell Silver Valley Station in early 2007. Silver Valley had been in my family for 36 years. Having known Henry since the early 1990’s when Henry was agent for CALM, I had found Henry to be honest in his dealings with me and a man of integrity who called a spade a spade.
I knew that Henry had the knowledge and know how to market and sell Silver Valley.
Henry not only advised me how to market Silver Valley, but took into account other important factors such as the cattle market and weather conditions at the time. Henry was spot on, and after a five week marketing plan, Silver Valley was sold on auction day.
I highly recommend Slaney & Co First National and the team of Henry and Jennifer Slaney to any producer looking to market their property. We were really happy with the marketing, organization and outcome and felt my interests were professionally represented during the ‘Silver Valley’ selling process.

| Owen & Roxanne Wellington- ex Bullock Creek Station, Mt Garnet |
|
Roxanne and I had been trying to sell Bullock Creek for quite some time using various agents, but with no luck. I approached Slaney & Co to try and market Bullock Creek. Henry and Jennifer were more than helpful in delivering to us a professional marketing plan that worked and the proof is in the sale of Bullock Creek. They made us feel as though they cared about our personal goals and we believe that they made our goals their own. During the time frame of the marketing programme Henry spent a lot of time in our home at Bullock Creek and we got to know that he was a committed, intelligent, decent man with integrity. Others had tried to sell Bullock Creek but failed however the team at Slaney & Co First National believed firstly in our enthusiasm and Henry had the knowledge to believe what he saw and this with his knowledge of land and cattle made it easier for them to achieve a sale. We are very happy with the sale result and equally happy are the purchasers. This could not have been achieved unless Slaney & Co first National believed in themselves, their clients and their ability. We recommend Slaney & Co First National to any entity wishing to sell a property as they did what a lot thought impossible.

| John & Shirley Bambling - ex Inorunie Station, Georgetown |
|
Having made a decision to sell our property "Inorunie" we had the good fortune to contact Henry Slaney at Slaney & Co to enter into an auction programme for the property.
Our previous experience with auctioning was not a good one as it met with little success, so we were dubious at first. However, Henry's professional atttitude and support encouraged us to proceed with an auction programme.
Due in no small part to Henry' s efforts, we ultimately agreed to a sale prior to auction and it was down to Henry's dedicated efforts that we were able to bring the matter to a successful sale.
We were happy with the result and we were pleased with Henry's work and his ongoing support during the transaction.
We can recommend Henry and the team at Slaney & Co First National, given our pleasant experience.

| Richard Holme -ex Glen Dhu Station, Mt Garnet |
|
I have known Henry for a number of years since having done business with him selling cattle when he worked for CALM.When Henry learnt we were interested in selling Glen Dhu he approached me with a proposal as to what he could offer us as our agent in selling Glen Dhu.
I was immediately impressed with the proactive, positive and professional approach Henry made to me. He stated from the start of the auction process of Glen Dhu that he was acting for our behalf as the vendor and his actions never led me to believe he was doing anything else but that.
He was always proactive through the whole process and worked very hard at getting the best results for us. He put together a good brochure to put Glen Dhu forward in the most positive manner as well as being very informative. He kept me as the vendor very well informed at all stages.
It was a pleasure to work with Henry and believe he was a definite asset to the process of auctioning Glen Dhu. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any body as a resourceful and competent agent for the sale of stock and land.

| Giles & Sally Atkinson - Gunnawarra Stn, Mt.Garnet |
|
After having our Innisfail property "Mena Vale " listed with a number of different agents, including all the big name ones, for a couple of years and with few inspections, we were becoming quite disillusioned with agents and their attitudes in general. After approaching Henry in mid 2005 we were pleasantly surprised and quite impressed at the speed and professionalism at which Henry showed in getting a marketing programme under way. We were also impressed with the professional approach and attitude Henry displayed in his marketing programme for our property which sold after auction 3 months after initially approaching him. Henry kept a cool head when things didn't seem to progress in the right direction and in the end brokered a price that we were happy with.
I guess what impressed us the most about Henry was his integrity, attitude and commitment towards us as the Vendors. In the past we have been wary of agents because they have given us the impression they were working for the buyer more than ourselves even though we were paying their way. Not so with Henry, he didn't leave us in any doubt that he was committed to and working for us, and if for no other reason, we would highly recommend Henry as your selling agent.

| Mike & Maureen Borello - Mt. Emu Plains, Hughenden |
|
We have marketed stock and property with Henry since the mid 1990's and found him to be professional, knowledgeable and most importantly very ethical. Before we started dealing with Henry we had found it difficult to find agents who marketed our stock to our best advantage.
We trust Henry implicitly and believe he is genuinely interested in what is best for us and our business. We think that a trusting relationship with our agent has helped our business because there are no hidden agendas ... we know Henry is always representing our interests to the best of his ability. Over the years Henry has successfully marketed store and slaughter cattle for us and we would recommend him to any cattlemen, as he is a man of integrity.

| John Dunn - ex Homevale, via Townsville |
|
In early 2005 I appointed Henry Slaney as the exclusive agent to market “Homevale”, my home property for 30years. From our initial meeting, when Henry showed me the suggested marketing plan, right through the advertising, marketing and property inspections I found Henry’s attitude courteous, knowledgeable and professional.
The six-week Auction programme recommended was a great success as “Homevale” sold under the hammer. Both during and after the “Homevale” marketing programme I referred many of my friends who are considering selling, to Henry, as I am very confident he will look after them. Since the sale of “Homevale” Henry has kept in contact, revealing himself to me as a person who is interested in his customers beyond his business dealings, to a more personal level … I think he cares about people.

| Rod & Margaret Cogill - Bettsvale Stn, Pentland |
|
We have been involved with Henry Slaney for a number of years. Henry was involved with the purchase of Humpy Bong & Nevilles in 2002.
Only through Henry’s knowledge and persistent nature reassuring us the 40,000acre property of very hilly and difficult access to and from the property we agree to purchase the property. This investment paid off as in 2005 we were able to sell at a profit and this enabled us to purchase another property easier to manage and suit our lifestyle.
Henry is always friendly, honest and reliable and would recommend him as an agent to any producer looking to buy or sell property

| Russell Lethbridge - Werrington Stn, Einasleigh |

I met first met Henry in 1995 during his time as North Queensland Field Manager for CALM and was involved with him in the formation of TOPEX. Since then my family have marketed cattle with Henry either directly, or indirectly, via other staff in the business and have found his advise to be accurate and most importantly honest. The thing that is of most comfort to me is that Henry thinks about the best marketing strategy, proposes several options and then advises us on the basis of what is in our best interests. By removing emotion out the marketing strategy and analyzing the straight fundamentals in the marketplace, Henry’s advice has been invaluable to our business. Henry’s intention of achieving the best possible result rather than JUST MAKE A SALE has always been at the forefront of our marketing success. On the basis of dealing with Henry for 10 years I would have no hesitation in recommending him to other producers for both their stock and property marketing.

| Ninian & Ann Stewart-Moore - Dunluce, Hughenden |
|
Ann & I met Henry during the early 1990’s, when he was the northern representative for CALM. In the early years Henry marketed all our stock but in more recent times Henry has been more on an advisory basis.
We have found him to be experienced, knowledgeable and thorough and have confidence in his recommendations because he has always been concerned about what is in our best interests. We have been dealing with Henry for more than tens years without fault and would have no hesitation in recommending him to other producers.

| Dennis & Kylie Bolton - Humpybong Stn, Townsville |
|
We have known Henry for some time, so we discussed our property interests on many occasions. Henry initially suggested an opportunity to upgrade our property holdings.
Henry’s proposition was to sell our current holding of “Chippendale” at Charters Towers and then buy “Nevilles & Humpybong Stations” at Townsville. Henry explained that this could allow us to amalgamate all agistment cattle onto one property. The saving made by holding one property without requiring agistment would offset the upgrading costs.
We worked through the sums, looked at the properties and decided to follow Henry’s recommendation of back-to-back, sell and buy contracts … about 12weeks later it was done!
Henry was knowledgeable about the country, he gave us time to do our homework, and because of that we were confident to make the move. We consider Henry trustworthy, capable, knowledgeable and understanding to the things that are important to us.
We would recommend Henry to any cattleman looking to sell their place.

|
It is our pleasure to write this referral for Henry. We have known Henry and Jennifer both personally and professionally for the last 7 years.
We have consistently found Henry to be reliable, honest, a man of great integrity with drive and dedication to the job at hand. Henry was involved with the sale of our cattle and in the sale of our property “Nottingham Downs” which had been in our family for 60 years. The decision to sell was not an easy one. We had dealt with Henry as a stock agent for a long time and were inspired by his ethics and the way he represented his clients. Henry’s marketing proposal was comprehensive and gave us comfort that our interests would be well represented.
The seven week Auction marketing programme was professional, the feedback during the time was great and we sold the property by negotiation after the Auction. We were extremely happy with Henry’s commitment to achieving the best result for us and in giving us feedback. We feel he is knowledgeable and trustworthy, cares about his client’s best interests and have no hesitation in recommending him to graziers looking to sell stock or property.

| Hinkler Rayner - ex Coolamalla, Woodstock |
|
I first contacted Henry in early 2004 about the sale of the Woodstock properties “Coolamalla” and “The Casino”. Henry organised a meeting and inspection and listened to what I wanted. We talked price and he said, “Sounds big money, but we’ll see how we go. I’ll keep you informed”.
I listed property for Private Sale through Henry and in no time he had buyers looking and eventually a contract signed in about twelve weeks. I was happy with the inspections and the price I received and since then have recommended Henry to friends who own land and are looking to sell.
I found Henry to be knowledgeable, honest and reliable. Even though I might not be selling more land he has kept in contact ever since the sale.
